Climate change refers to long-term alterations in global or regional climate patterns, primarily resulting from human activities such as the burning of fossil fuels, deforestation, and industrial processes that release greenhouse gases into the atmosphere. These gases, including carbon dioxide, methane, and nitrous oxide, trap heat, leading to the warming of the Earth's surface and contributing to various environmental changes.

Efforts to address climate change include international agreements, policy initiatives, and technological innovations aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions, promoting sustainable practices, and mitigating the impacts of climate change. Transitioning to renewable energy sources, implementing energy-efficient technologies, and adopting sustainable land-use practices are some of the strategies employed to combat climate change and promote environmental sustainability.

Climate Change Services

We contribute to the development of comprehensive policies and regulations tailored to unique socio-economic and environmental contexts. we collaborate with governments and stakeholders to establish guidelines that promote renewable energy adoption, facilitate investment, and ensure compliance with international environmental standards.

Recognising the importance of capacity building in driving sustainable energy transitions, We conduct comprehensive training programs, webinars, and other forms of digital knowledge-sharing initiatives. They equip local stakeholders, governmental bodies, and private enterprises with the necessary skills, technical guidance, and best practices to foster a culture of sustainable energy management, climate change adaptation, and mitigation across various sectors.

EMRC can design and implement tailored strategies to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change and build resilience within African communities. We offer risk assessments, vulnerability analyses, and resilience-building initiatives that encompass sustainable land-use practices, ecosystem preservation, and the integration of climate-smart technologies to enhance adaptive capacities and minimise environmental vulnerabilities.

We can oversee the implementation of sustainable energy projects and climate change adaptation initiatives. we carry-out robust project management methodologies, impact assessments, and stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure the successful execution of projects that align with sustainable development goals, foster environmental stewardship, and promote socio-economic inclusivity.

Validation of Project Green Savings Project

EMRC was contracted by IHS Towers to review the company’s technical model designed to simulate planned fuel consumption savings under the Project Green Savings Initiative. The review of the IHS savings model included assumptions used, data inputs, savings delivered, and other benefits identified. We proposed assumptions and calculations that will result in realistic and realizable benefits and risks.
