Ivie is a qualified lawyer with 10 years’ legal and regulatory experience, much of it in the power and gas sector. Ivie has significant experience providing legal advisory, regulatory compliance and due diligence on investment projects in Nigeria. This work includes legal advisory and due diligence for West Power and Gas (WPG) on its US $135 Million successful acquisition of Eko Electricity Distributiob Company (EKEDC) during the privatisation process and supporting EKEDC in obtaining Central Bank of Nigeria Nigerian Electricity Management Stabilisation Facility (CBN-NEMSF) funding for N5 billion. She also negotiated Power Purchase Agreements for Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC). She was a key member of the team that developed the Power Purchase Agreements which are now used as standard templates in the industry. She has supported distribution companies in ensuring their regulatory compliance.

She has a deep familiarity with the legal and regulatory framework of the Nigerian power sector and has advised EMRC’s clients on a wide range of regulation in the sector, including proposed mini-grid and feed in tariff regulation.

Ivie holds an LLB from the University of Hertfordshire and a Master’s degree with a specialisation in Energy Law (with Distinction) from the University of Dundee.
