We undertook a Baseline Loss study to quantify the levels of Aggregate Technical Commercial and Collection losses and in turn, negotiate a tariff adjustment with the regulator. We performed large data extractions from the pre-and post-paid customer database platforms located at different Business Units. Models were developed to analyse and clean the extracted data to determine levels across the franchise zone. For Kano, Enugu and Jos we also implemented a load flow model of the distribution network to estimate technical losses and for all clients, we carried out a customer numbers audit to identify inactive and/or duplicated customer records to benefit from a reduction in erroneous billing.
