When Climate Finance Becomes a Credibility Question
Nigeria’s climate ambition is becoming more defined. With a net-zero target for 2060, updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), and growing obligations under the Biennial Transparency Report process, the country’s climate governance framework is moving further into implementation.
As that happens, the role of Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) is beginning to change. It is no longer only a reporting function within climate governance; it is becoming part of the evidence base through which Nigeria’s climate action is interpreted by financiers, donors, and development partners.
